opencode v2.0.27–2.0.29 land on @opencode/cli in three days: Windows ARM64 goes native, Figma plugin, PWA, and a VS Code 1.0.0
The v2 line moved fast between October 12 and 14, 2026: v2.0.27, v2.0.28, and v2.0.29 published on three consecutive days — and they live on the @opencode/cli npm package (registry timestamps: 2.0.27 on 10-12, 2.0.28 on 10-13, 2.0.29 on 10-14), while opencode-ai stays at 1.19.0 as the v1 package. The repository README on the dev branch now installs the v2 line by default: npm i -g @opencode/cli@latest. A fourth release, vscode-v1.0.0 (October 14), shipped the VS Code extension line in the same window.
A method note: the three v2 release notes themselves are placeholder lines (“release: v2.0.x”), so the changes below are derived from the commit range v2.0.26…v2.0.29 on the shared dev branch — per-version attribution inside that range is approximate, and every item cites the commit it came from.
Windows ARM64 goes native
The window carries a coordinated ARM64 push: install the native binary on Windows ARM64 (#54955), bundle arm64 binaries for Windows (#54689), update emulated x64 installs to native ARM64 (#54983), the console offers the Windows ARM64 desktop download (#54971), the TUI reports x64 emulation on Windows ARM64 (#54984), and official WinGet packages are published and upgraded (#54808).
Surfaces: Figma, PWA, release highlights
The Figma plugin arrives (#55049) with complete Figma skills bundled (#55061). The web app becomes installable as a PWA (#53905). And after updating, the TUI now shows release highlights (#54969) — a changelog surface inside the tool itself.
Provider and core surface
On the provider side: a Vertex Mistral route (#54058) and a Vertex AI Interactions route (#54175) join the catalog, CLOUDSDK_CONFIG is supported for Google Vertex ADC (#54164), the ChatGPT OAuth context for gpt-6.1-sol rises to 500k (#54668), the OpenCodeZen provider is renamed to OpenCode (#54767), and Anthropic cache breakpoints become configurable through compatibility.cacheFormat (#54945).
Core and governance: responses can continue after output token limits (#53876), the desktop session view shows tokens and cost (#53785), per-project auto-accept permissions can override a default (#54839), the top-level policies config is stabilized (#55297), and managed configuration takes highest precedence (#55267). The desktop pairs devices through remote access (#55306), and pair --remote asks before first exposing the server (#54561). For the editor side, the VS Code extension’s v1.0.0 window includes launching the V2 CLI without --port (#49084).
The full commit range is in the repository’s compare view (v2.0.26…v2.0.29); the source line links the v2.0.29 release page; the v1 line’s most recent release remains v1.19.0, covered earlier on this site.
