opencode v1.19.0: the OpenCode 2 upgrade path arrives, /update takes over installs

opencode v1.19.0 shipped on October 11, 2026, and its headline is the bridge to the next major line: OpenCode 2.

The upgrade path

  • Run opencode upgrade --major to upgrade to OpenCode 2.
  • In the TUI, /update now installs OpenCode updates or performs the OpenCode 2 upgrade — and updates are no longer installed automatically.

Core fixes

  • The OpenAI ultrafast service tier is now allowed.
  • PTY connection origins and tickets are validated before checking whether a PTY exists.

One community contributor is credited across Zen documentation churn (Exo Free added, then Fledge Alpha Free removed) and a stats fix attributing exo usage to an unknown provider.
