opencode v1.19.3 builds reasoning variants from your config; v2.0.31 lands on npm without a release page

October 16, 2026 was a two-line day. The v1 line shipped v1.19.3 on opencode-ai (registry timestamp 12:32 UTC), and minutes later the v2 line’s 2.0.31 published as @opencode/cli latest (12:36 UTC) — for the second release in a row, with no GitHub release page.

v1.19.3: reasoning variants come from config

The single substantive commit (#55854) makes configured model reasoning options the source of reasoning variants: what you configure generates the variants a model exposes, replacing the variants hard-coded in the model catalog while your configured variant overrides are preserved.

v2.0.31: the same theme, plus a redesign experiment

The config-driven reasoning work mirrors v1.19.3: model reasoning is read from config (#55853), reasoning is loaded and respelled for every native provider package (#55789), and variants are respelled when config changes a catalog model’s package (#55962).
The TUI opens a new designs experiment (#55818) with new dialog designs behind it (#55810) and DialogSelect rebuilt on the shared DialogLayout (#55799), and gains an opencode2 theme plus a text.faint token (#55798).
