opencode v1.19.1–v1.19.2 discontinue session sharing and fence the 1.x update channel; v2.0.30 lands on npm without a release page
October 15 and 16, 2026 gave the v1 line two releases on opencode-ai: v1.19.1 and v1.19.2 (registry timestamps: 10-15 and 10-16). Each carries a single substantive commit, and both change day-to-day behavior: the first discontinues session sharing, the second fences the 1.x update channel off from 2.x. In the same window the v2 line’s 2.0.30 reached npm’s @opencode/cli (dist-tag latest) on October 15 — this time with no GitHub release page at all.
v1.19.1: session sharing is discontinued
The single substantive commit (#55718) announces that session sharing is discontinued: existing share links and session-sharing commands are no longer available, and importing sessions from share URLs is unsupported. Upstream’s docs no longer mention /share anywhere.
v1.19.2: the 1.x update channel tightens
The single substantive commit (#54904) rewrites update checks around npm discovery:
- Update checks follow only the npm
opencode-ailatest version, so 1.x installs are never offered a 2.x build as a regular update. - Upgrading to OpenCode 2 stays an explicit step: the 2.0 offer inside
/update, oropencode upgrade --major. - Homebrew Core now tracks OpenCode 2, so 1.x updates are skipped there, and tap and Chocolatey availability are checked before an update is offered. The install script refuses to install 2.x versions, and upgrades for yarn-managed installs are fixed.
v2.0.30: npm only, no release page
The v2.0.30 git tag exists and npm published 2.0.30 as @opencode/cli latest on October 15 at 19:46 UTC, but the repository has no matching GitHub release. The changes below are read from the v2.0.29…v2.0.30 commit range (65 commits); per-item attribution is approximate:
- The TUI diff side panel opens by default (#55780), with responsive diff viewer layouts (#55574) and diffs rendering in plugin panel slots (#47152).
- The session UI summarizes each turn’s changed files (#55064); the desktop app shows voice delegations from the iOS app as Voice messages (#54426).
- The published config schema accepts V1 and V2 shapes (#55524); MCP fixes cover the spec-shaped elicitation capability (#53196), skipping list calls for unadvertised capabilities (#55474), and treating
*.localhostas loopback for MCP OAuth token endpoints (#55627). - The Windows service defaults to port 45278 (#55547), install download progress is polled instead of traced (#55586), and the docs add mise as an install method (#55415).
Link status note
The v2.0.29 release page linked from the previous entry — along with the other release pages from last week’s window (v2.0.27, v2.0.28, vscode-v1.0.0) — was no longer publicly visible (404) when checked on October 16, 2026; the git tags remain. This entry’s source line points at the v1.19.2 release page.
