opencode v2.0.32 adds /copy and headless auth login, retries Gemini MALFORMED_RESPONSE, and experiments with server-brokered voice sessions

v2.0.32 published on @opencode/cli on October 16, 2026 — the third consecutive v2 release with no GitHub release page, so this article reads the official changelog entry at opencode.ai/changelog (fetched 2026-10-18). The latest dist-tag on npm points at 2.0.32 as of the same fetch.

Highlights: /copy gets a target, headless logins get unblocked

Two headline changes. Copy the Latest Reply: running /copy in the TUI now copies the latest assistant message — or a completed compaction summary when it is the latest response — instead of the full transcript; the full transcript remains available from the command palette or /export (#56053, #56055). Auth Login in Headless Environments: opencode auth login no longer crashes in a container or other headless environment that cannot open a browser — you continue from the URL already printed in the terminal (#56082).

Core fixes: Gemini retries and Windows snapshots

Two bug fixes beyond the auth-login crash. Gemini sessions now retry or continue after intermittent MALFORMED_RESPONSE finishes instead of immediately failing (#56232). And snapshot capture is now resilient to concurrent Git object writes on Windows (#56190).

SDK: an experimental voice session API

The SDK section adds an experimental client.voice.session(...) API for server-brokered voice sessions: OpenAI GPT-Live and Realtime WebRTC sessions, OpenAI Realtime WebSocket sessions, and xAI Grok Voice WebSocket sessions. Authentication uses an API key stored on the server or the OPENAI_API_KEY / XAI_API_KEY environment variables — ChatGPT sign-in credentials are not used (#55951). The changelog marks it experimental; nothing beyond that one entry is claimed here.

As of 2026-10-18, latest on npm is still 2.0.32 and no v2.0.33 has shipped; the repository’s post-release merges on October 17 were site, console, and test work rather than coding-agent features.
